We would like to tell our story for you, our dear future users of our app – Tic Tac Toe Skills, and answer a very important question – why does it matter? So, a little bit of storytelling 😊
Once upon a time, our leader Vladimirs started to play some interesting French game, called petanque. He liked a lot this game for its unique advantage – it is helping to socialize a lot. This game is very popular in France among seniors because they can go outside, take a glass of wine, play petanque, and have a lot of interesting talks with even unknown people around. Afterward, Vladimirs decided to become a certified petanque trainer here in Riga, Latvia. He trains juniors and the team was a prizewinner in the international tournament, awarded 2nd place, as well, one of his students was a 1st place winner. Long story short, he decided to found his own social entrepreneurship company and he called it a ‘Socially active agency’. The goal of this company was to popularize this exciting French game, so next year, in 2020, a big social project was made and about 1000 people took part in it. Participants were from different social groups, as well as people with disabilities, so this project showed that exist such games in the world that do not require any special skills to play them.
In 2021, after Vladimirs took part in an international tournament in various sports games (Bocce volo, Bocce raffa, petanque – all of them are using similar inventory, which is different sized and weight balls), he realized that it would be great to merge these and other outdoor/indoor games into one unique and fascinating format. He came up with a brilliant idea to implement the Tic Tac Toe grid and its rules (of course with several changes and additions), but the main goal was to use the same Tic Tac Toe skills and approach – in this hybrid format of a game. And you would ask: why Tic Tac Toe? Why not something else? Here is the answer – because it is so simple, everyone knows how to play Tic Tac Toe from their childhood years, when kids drew the grid on the paper or the ground and did their best to smash their opponent with the team’s tactic and strategy! The most interesting thing – is always the simplest!
Finally, together with the Tic Tac Toe grid and main rules – Vladimirs thought that would be a great addition to create a unique database of questions from all around the world that the app users would send us and we would add them to our existing quiz. Right now, we have been moderating hundreds of questions for the app launch, but in the future – we are waiting for our users’ proactiveness and eagerness to learn and teach others something new!

The Covid-19 pandemic has shown us how painful physical isolation from society is, and the need to take care of one’s health at any age has become more essential. Our team has a huge desire to develop something globally important for the socialization of our community through active leisure and knowledge enhancement. After our application is launched on different platforms, we plan to implement as well online playing fields for various games like petanque, curling, darts, and Bocce raffa, so this is just the beginning!
