An overview of our first Tic Tac Toe Skills event

Hi, our dear friends! Here is a throwback to our first big event, which took part on Saturday, 30th of July, in Riga, Lucavsalas street 2, where we had a chance to show and test our app prototype! We wanted to gather our friends, colleagues, and beloved ones, and introduce to them our prototype of the Tic Tac Toe Skills application, to get honest feedback from all players and have a lot of fun together! We had around 30 people as participants, and 3 great moderators of the games. We had 4 fields in total with different games – Raffa, darts, petanque, and an extra field with multiple inventories (volleyballs, tennis balls, footballs, and others). We divided everyone into teams of 4-5 people in it and asked them to pick a leader and the name of the team. In total, we had 6 teams ready to fight against each other! 😊

We are really happy and grateful for all the help that we had from our staff and moderators of the game – big appreciation to Aleksandrs, Natalija, and Monika for their effort and readiness to jump into all the challenges, to give us immediate feedback regarding any technical issues with the app and overall, with the rules of the games! We had 4 rounds of the games as each team played on all the fields that we organized. After each round, moderators gave us a final count of the points, we calculated the total amount of points after all the rounds and finally – we had a winner! The best part of the event was definitely when we had a last round of the games, 2 teams were on the same number of points and after the last game – the difference was just 1 tiny point between the first and the second place! All of these emotions, an eagerness to be competitors against each other, an excitement in the eyes – was the result that we were expecting from this event!

If we are comparing all the fields that we had, then from our point of view as event hosts – all players liked Raffa more than other fields, as it was the most difficult, and all teams spent more time playing this game, but they had more emotions when, for example, had a good throw or even a combination of 3 balls in one line – as it was a big challenge indeed! Because of these true emotions during the games – we had an interview with some of the players and a moderator Monika, where we asked them to describe their opinion about our app, the event itself in general, and how they like the quiz implemented into the app. We had awesome feedback from our players, people liked a lot our idea to add questions as a quiz, as well they liked a Tic Tac Toe grid combined with different ball games.

This event was very important to us and the community in general as it showed that doesn’t matter what language you speak, what age you are, or how good you can play sports games – nobody had any issues with playing our games as they do not require any specific skills, our participants and moderators spoke in 3 languages: Latvian, Russian and English – and everybody understood each other perfectly. We had the youngest participant that was only 4 years old and we had a participant with disabilities – still, all games went smoothly, players were satisfied and we proved our vision of this project – everyone can play our games and it can be done in any language in the world!

In conclusion, we would like to say a big thank you to all our participants, our family members who helped and supported us, and our videographers and photographers that captured amazing shots and filmed a lot of material for our website, social media, and future campaign on the crowdfunding platform. As well, we appreciate our local Latvian media LTV, which had an interview with us and did an amazing report of our event! Thank you very much for the support, for helping our goals be reached, and for the wonderful moments that we shared! Help us to spread the word about the Tic Tac Toe Skills project and join us on this journey!
